The Alternative Space

29th June - Friday 31st July

Pierre Peeters Gallery // Vero

The Alternative Space focuses on the information age and its impact on large cities. In particular, central urban areas such as Federation Square, Times Square, Moscow’s Red Square and Shibuya. These spaces offer a work place, a festive space, a physical location and a hyperreal site for information-exchange, all at once.

Large screens projecting advertising and video display the proliferation of images. Colour and form slowly disperse, almost dissolving and revealing a new form through movement. These screens have become the epicenters of megacities, a mirror of information networks, a window to cyberspace.
